The second
chapter from the twenty-six chapter novel by Cristian S.
Aluas picks up where the first chapter left off, at the stadium.
The art becomes more detailed and elaborate. It is apparent by the
crown, that the main character is like an 'Emperor.' We are then
greeted by a new character, a 'General.' He leads an army of penguins,
sprawled out on the countryside like Hannibal and his army crossing
the Alps. Again the metaphors continue. A powerful speech is given
by the 'Emperor' and a duality develops between these two main characters.
The layout and the pacing of the story is another strong element.

D GOD OF WAR (PDF) by Cristian S. Aluas (with

Davidson).
The third chapter from the twenty-six
chapter novel by Cristian S. Aluas is by comparison a more laborious
endeavor that the previous two chapters. There is far more art per
page and far more detail in the work. On top of that, the story
continues, yet the characters, especially the 'Emperor' (a character
metaphor that does not appear to apply to this chapter as much as
the last), are constantly changing, by the style in which they are
drawn or painted. In contrast to the diverse artistic styles, the
layout of the book is so exact and symmetrical as to truly deserve
the title of 'God of War.' It is as if the panels themselves are
line up like an army on the field. Furthermore, the story inside
the panels is gradually incorporating more contemporary elements,
as for example one of the characters rides an elevator and walks
onto a subway platform. It is becoming apparent that each chapter,
which takes Cristian S. Aluas one full year of production, is styled
very uniquely from the rest; each chapter stands on its own, while
